Apila by Hannakin Apila by Hannakin
yet another plushie for to be sold gallery-wise. I'm quite fond of Apila, though she's somewhat bizarre. The colours are garish, and she has an itty bitty zip on her face revealing numbers of a barcode. Yup uh ha and all.

These are just incredibly adorable and filled with personality. I love the colours/patterns and the materials you use. n___n

May I ask, I noticed that you've named some of your creatures by using Finnish names (like "Apila" and "Kyllikki"). It was surprising (since your profile states you're living in Australia) and now I'm puzzled over how do you choose the names for these little beings(?) : O

Keep up extremely intrguing work! : D

Ehehe, indeed I have used Finnish names.. it just so happens that my mother is Finnish,
I like the sound of a lot of Finnish words and I think they suit some of my characters very nicely, also makes for an interesting name for an English speaking country! Thanks for noticing!

Anyway thanks very much for your kind comment!

I see. I got intrigued over it as I simply found some of the names so funny. Especially I consider "Kyllikki" very fitting. x D (And usually when I happen to nitice Finnish words used, they are mainly used by people who also live in Finland. : ) Such a minor language Finnish is, after all, compared to many others.)

Do you use a sewing machine to create your plushies, or are they hand-sewn? Or a combination of both?
She is a sweetie.

I hand sew everything. I have used a machine for tiny bits in the past but this is most definitely all hand sewn.
I'm glad you like her!
